cats cats cats.

Back in November my sister Shannon and I decided to foster homeless pets. Perhaps it was triggered by cosy evenings spent at home on the couch with tea and that longing for a fluffy little friend to cuddle or perhaps it was triggered by the many a long discussions we'd had during that time about finding small things to do on an every day basis, purely for the sake of giving and contributing to the spirit of changing the sad things in this world by doing small but dedicated good things in return.... either way, we were on a mission.

And so it came about that we started researching the possibilities online. And I can tell you that there is an overwhelming number of abandoned little creatures out there in need of loving homes in Sydney alone...! One thing led to the next and soon thereafter we were fostering, caring for and loving a darling little feline family that had been dumped on a pet rescuer's doorstep in a shoe box as we pulled into the driveway.

Here are some film snaps I took at the time.

After  launching a big (facebook campaign and with the help of our awesome friends we managed to find all four of them new homes. Although I was sad to see the little rascals and mumma' cat go, I was so thrilled they'd been adopted by such loving parents.

Just for the record, and merely  in case you are thinking about embarking on a similar venture any time soon, let it be known that if given the time and to everybody's great surprise,  four fluffy angels can be revealed to be in fact four ballistic bouncing fur balls, your flat to be reclaimed as a feline jungle gym and your need for fresh air supply to be completely and utterly superfluous....just saying. Endless soft cuddles outweighed of course, but they did really have to be just that... endless....to bring back the happy and semi-sane state of equilibrium.
After having fostered our kitten family and a small but opinionated jack russel cross by the name of Maggie, we have taken a breather from pet life... but as we all know, sydney weather is famous for its unexpected downpours.... and coming into autumn, more often than not, it rains cats and dogs... so who know, eh?
